About Us

Friends of the Sherrills Ford Library is a volunteer library support group dedicated to enhancing library services and encouraging reading and literacy.  We are a 501(c)(3) organization.

Examples of our activities are:

  • The Literacy Project at Sherrills Ford and Catawba Elementary Schools uniting early readers and their families in a reading project.
  • Funding programs at the Sherrills Ford Branch library such as the Science Center summer workshops  and Spanish classes for children in grades 1 – 3
  • Inviting authors to speak about their books and writing at Friend’s meetings.
  • Sponsoring community events such as performances by the Connie Co from Davidson, Fall Fest and the Ancestry Project.
  • Purchasing books and magazine subscriptions as needed for the Sherrills Ford Branch.

    I will be spending the winter in Sherrills Ford.
    I am checking out local non profits to see if there is opportunity to volunteer
    I would like additional information about your non profit

      Yes, Karen, glad you asked. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities. We promote literacy and educational opportunities in the community, so we need people with an interest in helping to continue or expand our existing programs and to provide ideas for new programs.

      Please come to our next meeting, Nov. 17, at 6:30PM at the library. All meetings are open to the public.
